2017 State Roundtable Report
Educational Success and Truancy Prevention ~ A Report to the Pennsylvania State Roundtable – This report includes efforts put forth by the Workgroup in 2016-2017. The 2016 Report includes: information on Act 138 of 2016, data sharing and a full evaluation of the Workgroup’s efforts from 2009-2017. This is the final report of the Educational Success and Truancy Prevention Workgroup. The 2017 State Roundtable determined that the Workgroup has fulfilled its mission and charge set forth in 2009. 2016 State Roundtable Report
Educational Success and Truancy Prevention ~ A Report to the Pennsylvania State Roundtable – This report includes efforts put forth by the Workgroup in 2015-2016. The 2016 Report includes: legislative reform updates; data collection and sharing efforts; cross systems education including information on the upcoming 2017 Education Summit for Foster Youth and; a plan to evaluate the Workgroup’s efforts. 2015 State Roundtable Report
Educational Success and Truancy Prevention ~ A Report to the Pennsylvania State Roundtable.” This report includes efforts put forth by the Workgroup in 2014-2015. The 2015 Report includes legislative reform updates; data collection and sharing; cross systems education and resources including the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s newly revised Pennsylvania School Attendance Improvement Plan and Truancy Reduction Toolkit. “Educational Success and Truancy Prevention ~ A Report to the Pennsylvania State Roundtable.” This report includes efforts put forth by the Workgroup including legislative reform suggestions, educational curriculum on truancy for child welfare professionals, enhancements to the PA Toolkit for School Attendance and Truancy Reduction, Cyber Charter Schools and data sharing between courts, education and child welfare. 2013 State Roundtable Report
“Educational Success & Truancy Prevention ~ A Report to the Pennsylvania State Roundtable.” This report comprises the efforts put forth by the Workgroup including recommendations on considering the educational impact of placing a youth in a congregate care facility, suggested court inquires to support educational success, the need to enhance Pennsylvania’s Toolkit for School Attendance and Truancy Reduction, and considerations for cyber-charter school enrollment. 2012 State Roundtable Report
“Educational Success & Truancy Prevention ~ A Report to the State Roundtable.” This report comprises the efforts put forth by the Workgroup including specific recommendations and best practices to improve educational outcomes for children in foster care, including the adoption of the Eight Goals for Youth in Out-of-Home Care (Blueprint for Change, Legal Center for Foster Care and Education), court performance measures for children in foster care and specific recommendations for data collection. “Truancy: A Call to Action ~ Report and Recommendations to the Pennsylvania State Roundtable.” This report comprises the efforts put forth by the Truancy Workgroup including identification of key issues surrounding truancy, an analysis of available truancy data and a set of recommendations on five ‘core components’: collaboration, enhanced school culture, prevention & early intervention, data collection and creative partnerships which utilize data to inform decisions and build sustainable resources.
